How to remove family link from your phone

You can delete your child's Google account if they are under the age of 13 (the age limit may be different by country). Use Family Link to remove your child's account from Your Android devices.

How to delete your account

If you delete your child's account, they will lose all the information they have stored, including photos, emails, and documents.

Note. You can't delete a child's account if they're 13 years old.

  1. Delete your child's account from all Android devices where you sign in. Note! If you delete your child's account before it is removed from Your Android devices, these devices will be blocked.
    • If your child doesn't log in to any of your Android devices, go to Step 2.
  2. Open the Family Link appFamily Link on your device.
  3. Choose your child's profile.
  4. Click Settings AThenccount Information ToThen Delete Account.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note. You can also delete your account by clicking on your child's name on families.google.com website. If necessary, log into your Google account.

How to cancel deleting your child's account

Note. This can only be done if you have created a Google account for your child and the child is under the age of 13.

If you deleteyour your child's account by mistake, you can recover it, but you need to do so as quickly as possible.

  1. Sign in to your Google account and open your family group page.
    • Note. If you have deleted your child's account and family group, you cannot restore your child's account.
  2. Click on the Menu menThenu icon to Restore a deleted chiThenld account.

How to delete a child's account from an Android device

When you delete your child's account from your Android device, all related data, including emails, contacts, device settings, and parental controls, is also removed from your device.

Note. If you've set up parental controls for your child's existing Google account, you'll need their help to do so.

  1. Open the Family Link app onFamily Link your child's device.
  2. In the top left corner, click oMenunThen the Delete ThenAccount icon.
  3. Choose your account and enter your password.

If your child's device isn't connected to the Internet, delete your account with your parent access code.

Use the Family Link app on your device

  1. Open the Family Link appFamily Link on your device.
  2. Choose your child's profile.
  3. Find the Android card your child uses.
  4. Click Settings tTheno reset your device settings and delete data.

Note. You can also delete your account from your Android device by clicking on your child's name on families.google.com website. If necessary, log into your Google account.

Note. If you've set up parental controls for your child's existing Google account, you'll need their help to do so.

  1. Open the Settings app on your child's device.
  2. Click Users and Accounts selThenect the right Google AccountThen Delete account.
    • If you don't have the Delete account button, click on the "Still" Delete account icon in MoretThenhe top right corner.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
